Doing good deed, and get happiness

If you have an outdated computer, and you want to buy a new one, what will you do to the old one? Why not donate it to a charity center? Or maybe give it to someone who needs it more. Hmm... This is also a good deed. But please consider that you really give the computer in good condition otherwise the one who receives it will have to spend more money on the computer.

If you really want to do good deeds, do it wholeheartedly and completely according to your ability. Never leave problems to those who can't afford to solve. For example, if someone who receives your computer can't afford to buy a monitor, and you can't give him/her a computer. You'll probably need to consider whether to look for a second-hand monitor for him/her or else don't give it. Cause it will cause more problems. But if you really want to do good deeds, it's really not easy. Real good deeds need to be done truthfully and wholeheartedly.

Complaining won't solve the problem

I believe everyone has this kind of experience. Black out or Power Failure or No electricity. When we meet this kind of situation. The first reaction when this happens probably will be complaining about it. This seems to be a very common thing. But is it useful? What we really have to do is to check what has made the power failure. If we can do something, we should do it right away to solve it. Complaining will only trouble your mind more deeply.

I always meet this kind of situation. When I was a child, this kind of thing always happened. But when I've grown up, it still always happens. We can't do anything expect looking for torches or candle or LED lamps. While waiting we can do something we can think of for passing the time. Complaining won't solve the problems. What I want to do is "This life is full of unexpected situation. What you can do is to face it, do something to change, wait and see the result and then make the next move. Doing nothing but complaining will only trouble yourself and other people around you. But if you can't do anything, why not pray instead?

When I was a child, I always heard people saying "there had been fire disaster somewhere out there near ...", or something like that. I knew I couldn't do anything. But what I did was to pray for those unfortunate ones. If my school asked for a donation, I would give some money. So, once again... if you can do something, do it right away. Stop complaining.

Pessimistic and Optimistic People

I've got a Taiwanese friend. He ever told me a story about pessimistic and optimistic person. This is the story. Once, there were two people drinking beer. They drank the beer until half mug left. The first man said, "Hmm... Only half mug left to drink, now. And another said, "Hmm... I still have half mug left to drink.

It's a very short story indeed. But do you know what my friend told me then? He told me that the people have different point of views. One is a pessimistic person. And another is an optimistic person. Can you determine which one is pessimistic and which one is optimistic? Well, the first one is pessimistic and the second is optimistic. Look at the words in red.

Whether we have a little or a lot for anything, we shouldn't grieve over it. We should be grateful for anything we have. Cherish everything we have, especially our parents and people around us. Don't compare to others. You can work hard to achieve anything you want, but whatever the results come up, accept it, be grateful and cherish it always. In this way, you'll live more happily.

You can't wait to do that

There are two things you can't wait to do in your life. Do you know what they are?
They are:
  1. Being filial to your parents.
  2. Doing good deeds.
To many people, probably making money is more important than the two things I mentioned. This blog is not something very great about living, but at least it gives you a little tip to soothe your mind a little or maybe just give another perception / point of view of life.

Indeed, we should be filial to our parents. Because without our parents, we won't exist. Also, parents are our first teachers. Hardship in bringing us up without complaining the hardship itself.

Doing good deeds, is something really necessary in our lives. Do you wish people to do evil to you? Answering this question and I believe you know what I am going to say. You reap what you sow.

Home Sweet Home

When I was a child, I used to collect sticker. I remember that I had a sticker with "Home Sweet Home" printed on a red background with an apple or strawberry picture next to it.
Well, I am not going to tell you about my stickers, but I would like to tell something about the words "Home Sweet Home".

Chinese people have a saying, "When parents are around, don't travel far". The meaning could be deep, but I think this refers to the ancient Chinese people life principle of putting filial piety above career and other aspect of success.

Happiness doesn't come easy. It's not nature, but nurture. I mean the real happiness in the family comes from nurturing the life with the teaching of filial piety as the basic lesson for every family member since childhood.

Nowadays, people don't cherish family more than career, money and position. Everyone works hard searching for success outside the family, and as a result we see many broken family. Unlike those ancient Chinese people who put family education as their main education.

"To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right." ~ Confucious

Managing time

Everybody has 24 hours a day. But most people say that they don't have enough time to do this or that. As long as we know how to manage our time by scheduling our activities, this kind of saying "Not enough time" will be lesser.

People who don't know how to manage time wisely will find many problems in their lives, such as: unfinished jobs, abnormal rest and work, sometimes they even have to burn the midnight oil to finish the work they could do during the day. It's not easy to manage time, though. Hence, many of them keep on finding excuses for not doing something.

Happiness really comes to those who have learned time management and carefully scheduled their activities. Those who can manage time wisely are actually people who have cultivate the habit of using time since their childhood or at least they are those who have ever wasted their time and then realized about it.

Never find excuses or delay jobs

One of all common mistakes we make in our lives is delaying jobs given or finding excuses for not doing things right away. It's very easy to delay the jobs given to us. It's very easy to be lazy. But, when it meets the deadline, we'll feel anxious as we haven't done the job yet.

If you are a boss, delaying jobs and finding excuses for not doing it, means that you are setting bad examples for your employees. This also means that you can't manage yourself well. Of course this will affect your business.

If you are an employee, delaying jobs and finding excuses for not doing it, means that you are showing bad images to your boss and also showing that you are incompetent in completing a task.

Remember, you won't be successful from finding excuses and delaying. Only doing the tasks as soon as possible and completing it before the deadline given, can give you good result at least you won't have to hurry or feel stressed.

To plan or not to plan?

One morning, after waking up, I started to think what I was going to do that day. I started thinking from buying breakfast from my favorite coffee shop. I went there to buy breakfast at least once a week. That day, I also planned to meet my friend and took something from her. In my mind, everything should go smoothly as I planned. But who knows, none of them could be proceed that day.

I started my plan on buying breakfast. When I reached there, my usual favorite breakfast had been sold out although it was still very early in the morning. Then I went to my friend's place. Before going there, I even thought what I was going to tell her about. But who knows, when I reached there, she was not there. That means what I was thinking about was useless.

Maybe you've ever had this kind of experience. Why do we always think and think, plan and plan? Planning for the future is important, that's what we call goal for life. But it can also be your wandering thoughts.

There are rules I always follow for this kind of situation.

* If something that is not really important, don't put it in your mind repeatedly (like buying breakfast). Don't give your mind any burden in the morning.

* For anything you have planned, but not going smoothly as planned, don't be frustrated. Everything in this world keeps on changing, moving and nothing is eternal.

* Planning for something is necessary, but doing is more important, but the most important is to adapt quickly to the changing situation.

If you plan to do something necessary or a goal to achieve, plan it quickly but carefully. Then do it routinely up to a certain time (maybe a few weeks or a few months). If something undesired happens (not in accord with your planning), adapt to the situation as necessary (try to find a solution quickly).

If you can't solve it, share it, maybe you can use Yahoo! Answers or search for forum where you can share.
